Sub Worlds
A core principle of the game is the subdivision between the Exterior Station View and the Abstract System Layout view. From a technical perspective, these two views are visually completely separated and only loosely connected via gameplay in terms of buildable station segments built in the exterior view that provides modules to be placed in the abstract layout. The completely different views were achieved by implementing a sub world plugin that enabled us to render entirely different worlds and cleanly separate the two views from each other, without one hiding awkwardly in a hidden space from the other.
